By North East Wedding Photographer Marco Damian
Contacting Your Favourite Photographers
Once you’ve booked your venue and know your wedding date you’ll be starting to look for the best North-East wedding photographer for you, someone who has the right mix of technological expertise and creative vision, who is solely there as your independent photojournalist. There’s no rush if you start the search early enough, take your time to look around, check out a photographers ABOUT ME, their GALLERY and learn a little more about them and their STYLE. Some photographers also have a FEATURED WEDDINGS sections where you can see a larger selection of images from various weddings they’ve worked at previously. No two professional photographers will be alike, we each have our own identity, personality and creative vision that we hope to share with you through our work. As soon as you find a photographer you like the look of don’t delay in using the CONTACT form on their website, say hello and open up a line of communication with your favourites.
Confirm Photographers Availability
Once we receive your initial message we will quickly flick through our calendar to check availability and reply to your initial message. I personally always reply to my emails whether I’m available or not. If I’m not available I will let you know and wish you all the very best on your continued search, If I am available I will confirm so and forward you a copy of my wedding collections brochure. My brochure comes in the form of a PDF that breaks down my list of packages and prices. I like to keep my photography packages nice and simple, offering what I believe to be the essentials for any wedding day, these packages can then be further discussed and altered to best suit your requirements. If at this point you decide not to go further with a particular photographer, the best way to approach this is to simply let them know and thank them for their time, by doing this you will ensure no further follow up emails are sent your way allowing you to focus on moving forward with your search.
Do We Have To Meet?
This is entirely up to you. If you do like the look of a photographer and have decided on a package that best suits your requirements then It’s often nice for your own peace of mind to meet up, have a coffee, a brief chat and get to know each other a little better. Posing and remaining relaxed for a complete stranger on one of the biggest days of your life can be tricky for some people, It’s good to know beforehand if you’re going to get on with your wedding photographer and if they are suitable for you and your company. If you don’t reside within the North East of England you could arrange a Skype or FaceTime call, giving you the opportunity to talk face to face and get to know your photographer on a more personal level.
Booking Your Wedding Photographer
Every photographer will differ with their booking process, I like to keep mine as simple and efficient as possible for you with a short, online BOOKING FORM, completed in your own time via my website. It takes less that 10 minutes to fill out the form, you’ll also be required to pay a £200 deposit to secure your day and finalise the booking process. It’s as simple as that.
What Happens Next?
Once you’ve completed the booking process I’ll save your details in a secure filing system and remove your chosen date from my yearly availability. Booking your wedding photographer as soon as possible gives you the best chance of securing the right one for you, in some cases this means there could be 1-2 years before your actual wedding day. Unless you have a pre-wedding shoot as part of your package there will usually be a fair amount of radio silence before we speak again. Sometimes plans change, addresses change, timings and locations change, as your wedding day gets closer and closer I will check in with you, usually one week before your wedding day to confirm your initial booking details. Feel free to keep in touch with your photographer throughout the time leading up to your wedding, we have been to quite a few weddings so see us as a source of information if you have any concerns about your day. Other than that it’s plain sailing all the way to your big day and personally speaking, I’m just as excited and honoured to be part of your big day as everyone of your friends and relatives.
